Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was carted off the field in the second quarter of Thursday night's
game against the Cincinnati Bengals after being thrown to the ground during a sack by Josh Tupou.
Tagovailoa lay on his back with both hands in a rigid position after his head and back slammed into the turf at Paycor Stadium.
The players from both teams gathered at midfield as the injured player was evaluated by the medical staff.
According to the Dolphins, he was taken to a local hospital in Cincinnati where he was unfortunately ruled out of the game due to head and neck injuries.
After Tagovailoa's departure, the Dolphins announced that "he is conscious and has movement in all his extremities."
At halftime, Prime Video analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was also Tagovailoa's teammate in 2020, tried to keep his emotions in check.
